It is not easy to find engineering books with soul. No regrets. but there were problems. Still, it explains things reasonably well, and is a pretty good place to start. This is a wonderful collection. Seriously I would recommend those classical, rigorous texts such as Antsaklis & Michel (Linear Systems), Khalil (Nonlinear Analysis). I bought this as a Christmas gift for one of my many wine loving friends and just had to get one for myself. and there was no infrastructure in place to distribute it.
So, gasoline won.
